Jackson, MS Kids' Museum for the curious at heart

At the Mississippi Children's Museum, fun is a serious thing! Here you will discover a myriad of educational programs and special events that perfectly complement the hands-on, inquiry-based exhibits, galleries and learning experiences for every age. Kids will enjoy education based exhibits focused on literacy, science, mathematics, engineering, technology, health and nutrition, and the cultural arts. One of the most popular exhibits is Exploring Mississippi featuring a state of Mississippi climbing map that recreates a physical environment based on the geophysical characteristics across the state.

  • What type of exhibits do they have at the kids Museum?

    The Mississippi Children’s Museum offers hands-on exhibits that inspired kids to learn, play, imagine and have some serious fun. Young minds thrive on exhibits and galleries like the Literacy Garden, Exploring Mississippi and Express Yourself. Kids learn about science, technology, and industry in fun ways in the World at Work Gallery and about health and nutrition in Healthy Fun. The museum also offers year round events, programs and summer camps to keep the kiddos active. Popular annual events include the Storytelling Festival, Ignite the Night, Dr. Seuss' Silly Birthday Celebration, and  Holiday Spectacular!.

    The Museum features a full service café to fuel your fun as you explore the museum. Enjoy a menu of freshly made sandwiches, hot pizza, salads, seasonal fruit, and sweet treats. Seasonal specialties include pancakes, savory soups, and garden-fresh produce from the Literacy Garden.
